This has been an effective foreign policy in maintaining stability and avoiding major world wide conflicts since the end of World War II
What if Kim Jong-il is not in charge of North Korea? There is a very real possibility of a coup, instability may result in a war between factions of the Korean People's Army and what about the security of North Korea's Nuclear arsenal?

Its time to demonstrate to the world that peace can only be maintained through strength, any sign of weakness sends a clear message to totalitarian's that the United States is not a faithful ally, lacking the tenacity to defend freedom and democracy.
The stronger the U.S. and Taiwan relationship becomes, the less likely China will misinterpret America's commitment to defend Taiwan. We must defend freedom and democracy and the right of our friends in Taiwan to determine their own destiny without coercion from China.
