Joe Biden Does Not Support Taiwan
Democratic V.P. candidate Sen. Joe Biden has stressed that he does not see China as a hostile country and has said that he would hope that China would see that the sale of weapons to Taiwan was merely for defensive purposes. Biden has reiterated that he does not support Taiwan Independence.
In 2001 Sen. Biden supported the one China policy and told Taiwan "You are no longer an independent country. You are no longer an independent nation state. We've agreed that you are going to be a part of China and that you will work it out under what conditions. So don't go declaring independence..."
Joe Biden is not friendly towards Taiwan as Vice President, Biden would be a statutory member of the National Security Council and would have strong influence over foreign policy.
