Taiwan is under threat. Taiwan is a democracy, its people get great freedoms, they have excellent civil liberties and the press freedom is fantastic but there is a catch, it is all only on the surface and at this rate is destined to collapse at any moment.
While Taiwanese people enjoy great freedoms, they are also subject to political fighting that openly allows libel and slander to a scale unbelievable, where Judges are appointed and slated towards one party that holds the Executive, Judicial and Legislative majority.
Its a place where civil liberties are free but having a website that parodies and ridicules the Chairman of a certain political party means you end up being sued and having to pay heavy fines, even though your just a student and the website is just a parody.
