Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games One World One Dream
The Paralympics provides for the ideal opportunity for the world to improve their awareness and understanding of people with disabilities.
Caimao Li, Director of the municipal governments Disabled Persons Affairs Committee said, "Societies lack of knowledge about disabled people is what leads to misunderstanding."
Li who has suffered from polio since the age of 3 said in the past that his disability hindered his attempts to win a place at a top university. "There are no barriers getting into college these days, everyone has equal rights but there is still discrimination..."
