Anti-Israel Week At University of Michigan

February 11-15 anti-Semitic organizers at the University of Michigan have planned "Palestine Awareness Week" which will coincide with "Israel Apartheid Week" at college campuses across the country.

The purpose at the events are to demonize Israel while condoning Islamic Jihad, providing a distorted view of the reality on the ground.

Israel does not practice apartheid. Today within Israel while Jews are a majority of the population the Arab population are citizens with full civil rights, voting rights and are represented within the government. Under apartheid South Africa, Black South Africans could not vote and were not deemed to be citizens of the country which they were the majority.

Arabs in the territories are permitted to work and enjoy freedom to attend schools and universities and are running many of their own daily affairs. If Israel was an apartheid state, the Arab minority would not be able to do any of those things.

Saudi Arabia, Iran and many other Islamic countries deny Equal Rights and opportunities to Women---where are the protests against Sharia Law?

Israel is the only free and democratic country in the Middle East, it is totally unfair to put Israel in the same category with odious regimes, ignoring the real abusers of human rights such as Iran which promotes fascism and genocide.
