Could the Intelligence Assessment About Iran's Nuclear Weapons Program Be Wrong?

Following the U.S. Intelligence Assessment last week that Iran essentially halted its nuclear weapons programs in 2003 Israel Intelligence believes that the report is simply dead wrong but how does one prove this without being accused of attempting to push the United States into war?

Mossad continues to believe that Iran is continuing to pursue nuclear weapons and believes that Iran will obtain a nuclear weapon by 2009 or 2010

In questioning the U.S. Intelligence Assessment, Mossad point to three indisputable facts: (1) in defiance of the international community Iran continues to enrich uranium; (2) Iran has an advanced missile program that it continues to develop; (3) Iran could quickly reactivate it's military program---if it has indeed been stopped? Producing a bomb in a relatively short time span.

"Iran can stop on the edge of the project to weaponize and decide to proceed at anytime." said Former Mossad Chief Ephraim Halevy

Mossad believes in it's own assessment of the Iranian program. Tehran could have easily shifted its nuclear program underground without being detected, even if it did not, it does not matter because the transition from an advanced civilian program to a military program is relatively simple and brief.

Israel can not afford to make any errors as it is within range of Iranian missiles. Some people argue in Israel that the United States can not be reliable when facing major security threats and the Intelligence Assessment is an attempt to tie the hands of the President while others see it as a way to back down from an unpopular military action against the fascist government of Iran.
