Disturbing news accounts that 270 Christian Ministers were rounded up and detained in China in the eastern Shandong Province, last week.
China Aid Association cited eye witness accounts that Police arrived at a bible study in Linyi in 12 vehicles, handcuffed Ministers and led that away. Those at the meetings were pastors of House Churches and up to 150 Ministers remain in detention. Other were released after paying 295 Yuan--about $40.00 USD Interrogation Fee.
As China prepares for next years Olympics persecution of Christians is very disturbing. Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council said of the reports, "...while the regime tries to project itself as progressive, the reality is that China has no intention by abiding by international law or abandoning its hostility to Western religious ideals....the arrests could have sweeping repercussions for the massive PR campaign underway to legitimize next years Olympic hosts."
