China Reverses Itself Defends Construction Of Collapsed Buildings In Sichuan Province
A local resident of Sichuan Province, China rides his motorbike yesterday, past a collapsed building in Hanwang. Chinese Authorities now claim that schools which collapsed fell because of the size of the earthquake, rejecting claims that some were weakened by construction flaws.
On the 21 November, I wrote here that the devastating Sichuan Earthquake claimed more than 19,000 children lives.
Last year, Chinese Authorities admitted that shoddy construction and substandard school construction, such as those that collapsed, were structurally unsound.
