China Authorities Harass, Intimidate & Detain Charter 08 Signatories

Chinese authorities have begun a huge crackdown on writers, artists, intellectuals and others that have dared signed a charter calling for democratic reforms in PRC.

More than 300 people executed the document which was published on the 10 December to coincide with the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

Liu Xiaobo and his wife Liu Xia have been in detention since the
08 December.

Chapter 08 has been hailed as the most significant act of public dissent against PRC Communist Party, since the Tiananmen Square pro-democracy protests that were crushed in 1989
