Hold onto Mom, My Child...


Many families want to adopt Sichuan earthquake orphans, parents deprived of their children must never be forgotten.

Physical injuries will be easier to heal than wounded minds and souls a child rescued from the rubble refused to talk with anyone including her Grandmother, nightmares are being reported. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can last a long time, particularly for those who have lost loved ones.

A poem by an anonymous author entitled "Hold on to Mom, my Child" spread widely around the Internet in China after the devastating Sichuan earthquake. "...come hold Mom's hand tightly. The catastrophic Sichuan quake has prompted an outburst of humanitarian feeling. More than 51,000 have perished and nearly 30,000 remain missing.

Xiong Lei writes, "We used to love those who loved us, love our own folks. Then we'd love those who we deemed were worth our love, those leaders and heroes. Now we'd give our love to everyone around us and to every life and we fuse such love into our work and become more committed to our respective work."

It's important to let those who are truly special in our lives, to know in their hearts how important they really are, friends may become an extension of ones family. I have made it a practice to make certain that those that I care for know in their hearts that I do love them. Love is a gift, we demonstrate our love to others by our attitude and our actions.
