Clinton: Boo Hoo Hoo Obama Not Being Nice
Senator Hillary Clinton giving an address and sings with a choir (hoping a bolt of lightning doesn't strike from heaven) Sunday morning at Northminister Presbyterian Church, Columbia, South Carolina. Politicking at churches doesn't apply to Democrats especially when doing it at African American churches.
Had any GOP candidate addressed a church, Democrats would be crying foul and demanding revocation of the churches tax-exempt status. In 2004 Rev. Barry Lynn, Executive Director of the Americans United for Separation of Church and State argued in a letter to the IRS, that one of Jerry Falwell's Ministries had disseminated political messages in violation of tax codes saying, "...I certainly hope that this sends a clear message that religious organizations have got to operate within federal tax laws restricting partisan politicking."
During Senator Clinton's "Meet the Press" interview yesterday, Senator Clinton complained that Senator Obama has been "unfair" and has been making "untrue" statements about her. "Obama has gotten a free ride, while Senator Clinton has been held to a higher standard" said a Clinton supporter. N.Y. Daily News, January 14, 2008
Bob Johnson, "Black Entertainment Television" founder who accompanied Senator Clinton on Sunday said in an interview, "To me as an African American, I am insulted the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think that Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in Black issues...when Barack Obama was busy in the neighborhood, I won't say what he was doing but he said it in his book." As Democrats heat up the rhetoric and continue to promise change is coming to America, what kind of changes do the Democrats hope for?
In 1984 Democratic Presidential hopeful Walter Mondale campaigned that "America Needs a Change" Americans decided that Democrats had nothing to offer and Ronald Reagan defeated Walter Mondale in a 49 state land slide.
While there is definitely going to be a Change in Presidential Administrations next year, is America going to elect a fire tested Chief Executive of Principle with Proven Executive Level Experience or a less than one half a term Senator professional orator, that is charming and charismatic? Maybe Americans will settle for a Senator that knows just when to choke back tears for political shrewdness?
