Evangelical Christian's Meeting in Washington to Demonstrate Solidarity With Israel
Evangelical Christians from all 50 States have gathered in Washington this week to express their solidarity with Israel.
The San Antonio based group "Christians United for Israel" main objective is to educate and build Christian support for Israel throughout the United States.
Christians United For Israel says, "...there is a new Hitler in the middle east, President Ahmadinejad of Iran, who has threatened to wipe out Israel and America...when a Mad Man threatens genocide, we must take him seriously. During the Holocaust, too many Christians were silent and were left to mourn the slaughter of 6 Million Jews. Today, Bible believing Christians must speak up and stand up for Israel...Our faith demands it, the times demand it. Silence is not an option."
"The enemies of Israel are the enemies of America, they are the enemies of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These enemies have drawn the battle line...then draw that line around both Christians and Jews...we are one...we are united." (Christians United For Israel--Web Site)
At last nights event at the Washington Convention Center, Speakers included: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA), Ambassador Dore Gold, President of the Jerusalem Center for Public Policy who was former Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to Benjamin Netanyahu and John Hagee, Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Church and National Chairman of Christians United For Israel.
