Ohio Teachers Prevail in Federal Court

Carol Katter a Mathematics Teacher at the St. Mary's School District objected that her Union Dues had to go to the Ohio Education Assn. (OEA) which supports Abortion on Demand.

Ms. Katter a Catholic objected and an OEA Attorney condescendingly told the teacher, "...you must change religions to receive an exemption..."

Instead, Ms. Katter filed suit in U.S. District Ct. Columbus, Ohio (Case No. 2:07-CV-43) challenging the Constitutionality of the Ohio law that required the teacher to pay forced dues to the OEA

Judge Gregory Frost has struck down 4117.09(C) Ohio Revised Code and in his Order, has permanently enjoined the State Employment Relations Board from enforcing the law.

Stefan Gleason, V.P. of the "Natl. Right to Work Foundation" praised the Court decision as a victory for employee rights and the freedom of conscience.

The OEA has a history of trampling on an individuals religious convictions.

An inquiry was made to the OEA who has refused to comment about the Federal Court decision.
