Fundamentalist Iran & Exploitation of Women
Under the religious orders of the Islamic fundamentalist's a government spokesman said, "Women must accept the reality of Men dominating them and the world must recognize the fact that Men are superior."
From the Mullah's perspective, "...sexual vice and virtue are the principal criteria for the evaluation of Women...fundamentalism conceives of Women as sinister and Satanic, she is the embodiment of sin and seduction, she must not step beyond her house, lest her presence in society breed sin...she must stay at home serving her husband carnal desires and if she fails to comply, she is compelling her Man to commit sin outside the home."
Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, head of the Islamic Council to Determine State Exigencies has said of Iranian Jurisprudence, "Justice does not require that all laws be the same for Men and Women...the difference in stature, vitality, voice, development, muscular quality and physical strength means than Men are more capable in all fields...Men's brains are larger...Men incline towards reasoning and are rational..."
Mullah Mahmud Yazdi, head of the Iranian Judiciary has emphasized the subservience of Women and has rationalized, "...if kneeling before God is obligatory Women must kneel before their husbands...a Woman is wholly the possession of her husband and her public life is conditional upon her husband's consent."
In a recent e-mail that I received from a Muslim Man, he wrote and said to me, "...a Muslim Man may have up to 4 wives and may only work outside the home with her husband's permission..." According to the Islamic Civil Law it states, "In the relationship between a husband and wife, heading the family is characteristic of the husband...a Woman does not have the right to leave her home without her husband's permission, even to attend her father's funeral."
The distorted misogynous interpretation of Islamic Laws by the religious guardians have ushered in a sense of hopelessness, fear and the enslavement of Women in Islamic societies. Under the "Hejab" Laws in the Tyrannical Iran, Women have been video taped being beaten by the Morality Police for not wearing a Burka and young girls have been taken into custody for not obeying the Hejab Laws according to the dictates of the Religious Zealots. In a YouTube video, two Morality Policemen are video taped beating an Iranian Women: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kc4dTfC2dE
Young Girls suffer the worst fate in Iran today according to the Law, Girls may be sold into marriage by her Father (who owns his child) "Adineh Magazine" wrote in 1991 that an 11 year old Girl was sold off into marriage to a 27 year old Man, the Father who had 7 daughters received $300.00 for the consent to marriage of his daughter, the morning after the marriage, the young 11 year old girl was admitted to a hospital with severe lacerations to her vagina." One young girl was forced into prostitution by her husband and was subsequently accused by the Morality Police of committing Adultery which is punishable by death by stoning. Her Pimp/Husband paid a small fine.
In 1994 the United Nations Report on violence against Women in Iran reported that "the public stoning and lashings of Women serve to institutionalize violence against Women in Iran" Under a religious decree by the Aytollah Khomeini, "...a virgin Woman prisoner must be raped by the Islamic Guard to prevent her from going to Heaven..."
It is not possible to know how many young girls and Women have been murdered at the claws of the tyrannical regime in Islamic Iran but without fundamental changes, the exploitation of Women will undoubtedly continue. Only by installing a democratic form of government in Iran will protect society from continued oppression.
