Democrats Begin Slipping in the Polls

With the Presidential Primaries a little more than 6 months away, the electorate are beginning to sort out their choices. Democrats that were predicting a land slide only a few months ago are starting to witness an erosion in the polls now that they control the Congress and the voters see them as ineffective.

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) promised a new standard of ethics in the Congress but we have witnessed in recent days the federal indictment of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) and the connections to Hamas and Islamic fundamentalism of Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). As a result of the ethical failings of Democrats. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll is showing that the Democratic Congress public approval numbers are tumbling quickly to 23%

The "Do Nothing 110th Congress" have seen their poll numbers dip below that of George Bush who has a 29% public approval rating in the same NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

The "self proclaimed champions of the middle class" have likewise seen their popularity dip as Americans become more affluent, the Democratic base erodes even more. Voters don't see Democrats as being honest and they lack ethics. Morality seems to matter after all.

In a "Mason-Dixon" Poll in South Carolina, unannounced candidate Fred Thompson leads the GOP with Senator Clinton trailing Senator Obama for the Democrats.

Fred Thompson who recently appeared on the "Tonight Show" said in an interview with Jay Leno that, "...I think about my country, I think about the country my kid's are going to grow up in..."

Senator Thompson is a "Reasonable Conservative" on Social issues with an ability to build alliances with both political parties. While in Congress, Fred Thompson voted to raise the minimum wage in 1996, supported the "Patient Bill of Rights" in 2001 which helped to assure better health care coverage in health care plans.

In 2006 Fred Thompson began providing news and analysis on ABC News Radio, his daily commentary may be found at: http://abcradionetworks.com/default.asp

Decency, honesty, and integrity Fred Thompson is guided by his convictions, duty for our country, strength in character and driven by good common sense.
