Democrats Continue to Support CAIR
Governor Ted Strickland (D-OH) addressed the 10th Annual Banquet for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Chapter in Columbus, Ohio on the 17 June saying, "...I appreciate your vision to promote justice and mutual understanding...to connect and share and get to know each other better..."
CAIR has been named as an "Unidicted Co-Conspirator" in a scheme scheduled to go to Trial next month in USDC, Northern District of Texas, Case No. 04-CR-240 in which federal prosecutors have alleged that 3 prominent Islamic organizations participated in a criminal conspiracy to support the Iranian supported Hamas Terrorist Organization.
CAIR Chairman Dr. Parvez Ahmed was also in attendance at the charity event with Ohio Governor Strickland.
Dr. Ahmed is no stranger to supporting Islamic Terrorist. In December 2005 he called for the release of terrorist Sami Al-Arian who had been the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an organization that carries out suicide bombings against innocent Jewish civilians in Israel.
Likewise Sami Al-Airan had been involved with CAIR's Parent Organization "Islamic Association for Palestine" (IAP) In 2004 a Federal Judge in Illinois ruled that IAP along with the "Holy Land Foundation" was liable for $156 Million Dollars for aiding the terrorist group Hamas in the death of 17 year old David Boim.
IAP assets had already been frozen in the United States by federal authorities for its support of terrorism. In the civil judgment in which IAP were found liable in the death of Mr. Boim, this was the first time a Federal Judge linked IAP to Hamas.
In order to continue to supply money to Hamas, CAIR appreciates the continued assistance of Democrats.
