Beichuan Frozen In Time

A clock rests in the rubble of earthquake ravaged Beichuan at the exact time of the catastrophic Sichuan earthquake. More than 80,000 people perished, many of them children.

This past weekend, mourners gathered in Beichuan to offer prayers remembering the families and friends who perished nearly one year ago. 12 May, will mark the first anniversary of that dreadful day.

Chinese authorities harass and arrest parents of children when attempting to investigate the shoddy construction of more than 7,000 classrooms which collapsed in Sichuan Province.

On 06 April, I wrote here that Sichuan families and friends remembered loves ones during Tomb Sweeping Day.
May God have mercy.

According to Amnesty International survivors of the devastating
8.0 Sichuan earthquake are being detained and imprisoned for questioning Chinese authorities practice of corruption and lax
quality control which made schools vulnerable.
