Texas Republican Lawmaker Tells Asian Americans To Get Easier Names

One would think that the drubbing the GOP took in the last two national elections, that the Republican Party would be more
sensitive to reaching out to whatever voters they could attract?

Not so with one Texas GOP lawmaker. During testimony on voter identification legislation, State Rep. Betty Brown said, Asian voters needed to change their names to something "easier for Americans to deal with."

According to the Houston Chronicle, Brown---easy name to pronounce, made the remark following testimony from Ramey Ko, really super hard to pronounce, a representative of the Organization
of Chinese Americans.
