Johnny Still Can't Read 50 Years Later

1954 Poster promoting Literacy in China---"Daddy, this is how you write characters."

While the world values education, sadly 14% of U.S. Adults can't read and won't be able to read this, according to statistics released by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Some years ago, I remember reading a book by best selling author Rudolf Flesch, Why Johnny Can't Read published by Harper in 1955 during the last 50+ years, we yet to have been able to stamp out illiteracy in the U.S. despite the hundreds of billions we have spent
on education.

The government indoctrination centers have failed Johnny, Susie and America. Is it time to scrap the dismal failure and start over?
