Chinese Authorities Detain Yao Lifa, Prior To Obama Reception At U.S. Consulate In Wuhun

China Democracy activist Yao Lifa, has disappeared his son said today, claiming that PRC authorities did not want him attending a U.S. Consulate reception marking President Obama's Inauguration, being held in Wuhun.

In November, Yao Lifa had been detained by PRC authorities for 2 weeks and released---that time Chinese authorities prevented him from consulting with candidates and voters in local elections in Hubei Province.

Kidnapped and Detained, Yao Lifa said that he was held at a state farm---an educator turned activist, he has been arrested a detained several times and had been kept under heavy surveillance just before Beijing 2008 Summer Games.
