Calligraphy To Welcome Chinese New Year





A Folk Calligrapher writes Spring couplets for local residents in Tangkou Township, Anhui Province, China to welcome the forthcoming Spring Festival which begins on 26 January.

Children from a Chinese Calligraphy Training class write Spring couplets for Laborers at a construction site, while other Calligraphers are pictured writing couplets for farmers in Chaohu City.

On New Years Day in Taiwan, more than 12,000 people gathered in Taipei to attempt to set the worlds record by writing calligraphy at the beginning of 2009 to promote traditional Chinese culture.
