Coca-Cola Denies Chinese Labor Violations

Is Coca-Cola a good neighbor and employer or do they violate the rights of their workers?

Coca-Cola China says they are not in violation of Chinese Labor Laws, an allegation made by students that documented violations by the soft drink company.

Nine university students unveiled a 28 page report documenting instances of labor law violations at 5 bottling factories and 4 suppliers.

Coca-Cola China has had problems in the past, in 2003 Houston Rockets NBA Star Yao Ming sued the company for using his likeness on packaging without his consent.

In 2006 Coca-Cola was accused of human rights and environmental abuses by the War on Want.org which said that the company was involved in human rights abuses in Colombia, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, Peru, Chile, Guatemala and Nicaragua.

Could it be that this multi-billion dollar corporation is not really what they seem to be from their slick advertising campaigns?
