It's A Wonderful Life Star Dies

Bob Anderson seen here who played the young George Bailey died at his home in Palm Springs, this past weekend, he was 75. Anderson, is survived by his spouse Victoria.

Robert Anderson grew up in a Hollywood family, his father Gene was an Assistant Director and later Production Manager, along with his Uncles William Beaudine and James Flood.

Best known for his roll in the 1946 Classic It's a Wonderful Life the same character portrayed by Jimmy Stewart as an Adult. In one scene, the story called for him to have his ear slapped back by town's Druggist played by H.B. Warner.

Warner took his roll seriously and on the day that scene was shot, he had been drinking and was "pretty ripe." Anderson remembered that scene well and in 1966 told the LA Times, "...the scene and rehearsals were painful...he actually bloodied my ear, my ear was beat up and my face was red, I was in tears."
