Physician helping to save Chinese children

Dr. Liu Xiaolin, a soft spoken Physician figured out that infant formula was leaving a trail of dead babies in Fuyang, China 4 years ago, landing the formula makers in prison and heightened awareness of consumer rights in China. The Chinese Physician is now once again working on the mystery ailment infecting China's littlest victims.

Shanghai Physicians have detected 65 cases of Enterovirus 71, commonly referred to as EV 71 twelve of the cases were found to have been caused by "Cox Asckievirus A 16" another intestinal virus that leads to EV 71 none of the patients being treated had severe symptoms.

Seen here, a Nurse is caring for a child that has recovered from EV 71 most of the victims have been between the ages of 1 to 6 years old.

Last week China declared a national alert over the outbreak of EV 71 and closed all Kindergarten's in affected areas. More here from Detroit Free Press.com
