Beginning March 21 starts the holiday of Purim and Jews listen to the story of Esther---whenever Haman's name is mentioned people twirl Graggers and stamp their feet to drown out his "evil name." Children are taught that only during Purim that it's acceptable to make noise.

Purim emphasizes the importance of Jewish unity and friendship by sending food and gifts to friends. Concerns for the Needy is a year round obligation and on Purim it is a special Mitzvah by giving directly to the needy.

This year children of Sderot will receive gifts which serves to acquaint Children with the distress and difficulties experienced by children uniting them through a Mitzvah.

As with all Jewish festivals Purim is celebrated with a special meal when family and friends gather together to rejoice in the festivities of Purim. "For the Jews there was light and joy, happiness and gladness." Esther 8:16
