Jewish Groups have blasted a 2007-2008 Methodist Church Study guide by Stephen Goldstein that is filled with inaccuracies about Israel and stereotypes Jews.
Goldstein an Ordained Methodist Minister who serves as Assistant General Secretary for the Mission Personnel Program Unit for the General Board of Global Ministries, portrays the Jewish people as "too paranoid and psychologically scarred to be trusted with self determination" accompanying the Mission Study is an equally distorted Study Guide encouraging people to embrace an anti-Israel narrative through a process of dialogue, meditation and worship.
The Methodist Church is further exploring a divestment petition in protest to Israel's policies. The petition charges that Israel illegally occupies 'Palestinian Land'---On February 4, I wrote here "Hamas Foreign Minister Admits There Is No Such Place As Palestine."
This report signals a profound misunderstanding of the situation in the middle east said a spokesperson from B'nai B'rith. The Methodist Church defended the guide as "thoughtful."
