Democrat's: Public Lack Intelligence To Join Ethics Debate In Congress

While Congressional Ethics should be important to all American's, Rep. Slaughter openly criticized a proposal that would permit any American to have a roll in Congressional oversight.

"I am having a real problem understanding why six people from outside this place will be smarter, more ethical than we are..." Louise Slaughter said in response to a proposal to create an Independent 6 Member panel to investigate Ethics Complaints against Members of the House of Representatives.
