Barack Obama continues to drive home to voters that the USA is in a recession and that NAFTA and George Bush are to blame. Some would argue that the rhetoric can be "self fulfilling" if permitted to take hold. Other's would argue that the our nations economy is strong, vibrant and resilient.
Sam Zell, Chairman of Equity Investments Group, which owns the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Times and other companies appeared today on CNBC Squawk Box and attributes much of the current economic troubles to politicking by both Obama and Clinton saying, "...Obviously what we have going on is an attempt to create a self fulfilling prophecy...we have two Democratic candidates who are vying with each other to describe the economic situation worse."
A Troublemaker will make trouble. Today I was reading an interesting article about teaching children responsibility. "...Usually what we think about our children will be self fulfilling prophecy...I remember a Woman telling me how she was having difficulties in math when she was in elementary school. Her mother said to her, 'no one in our family is good in math, I wasn't good at math, your father wasn't good in math, your sister isn't good in math. No wonder your having such a hard time. I am sure you will be good at something else.' How much of a chance did she stand to do well in math?"
Are the American voters simply robots being programmed to follow whatever one is being told? The world is a complex place are most people just too lazy to become informed and will cling to Revival rhetoric "Change to Believe in" instead of thinking for themselves? Change can be good or bad.
