Obama Cult Or Political Campaign ?

Last week a Counselor friend of mine wrote to me and said, "...Obama has me worried though because of the 'Revival' mentality that seems to be captivating for some when they hear him speak."

As I thought about this, I have noticed in Blogs others making this same observation, "...Excuse me but this sounds more like a cult than a political campaign...the Obama volunteers speak of 'coming to Obama' in the same way born-again Christians talk about coming to Jesus..."

Nicole Ziegler Dizon writes in 2004 following Obama's Senate win, "...his broad appeal was evident even at those local meetings. Deki Fox traveled 1.50 hours from Milwaukee to Rockford just to tell Obama how much she liked him, even if he wasn't her Senator."

The Junior Senator from Illinois has a charismatic charm, offering little substance to facts and most Groupies that are a part of the Social Network created by Senator Obama's Campaign, have little chance of meeting their leader except as a member of a larger audience. Is Senator Obama the master of a Cult or Political Campaign?
