Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, put Religion into the headlines trumpeting his faith and often times talking about his church and how he was inspired by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his Pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Some of Wright's messages teach of white supremacy and black repression.On June 3, Senator Obama launched a website, faith.barackobama.com/ and on this site he lists the testimonials of 3 controversial Clergymen: Rev. Wright, Rev. Alfred Smith, Sr. Senoir Pastor at Allen Temple Baptist Church, Oakland, CA. and Rev. Michael Plfeger a Roman Catholic Chicago Priest---Rev. Smith was honored by the notoriously violent Black Panther Party in 1975 and 1980 and was given a community award by the Nation of Islam, a anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic group; Rev. Plfeger has allowed Nation of Islam Leader, Louis Farrakahn, to preach in his church and has been arrested for defacing billboards. In May, 2007 Rev. Plfeger staged an anti-gun rally in front of a gun store where he exhorted the crowd to, "...hunt down the owner like a rat and snuff him out." Pastor Wright took over Trinity United Church of Christ in 1972 Obama first visited the church in 1985 and at age 26 it's reported that the now Senator from Illinois, dedicated his life to God after years being a religious skeptic.
Following a service at the church, Senator Obama, is said to have made a last minute decision not to have his Pastor, spiritual mentor and roll model, speak at his announcement for President of the United States. These reports are dubious in light of what his Pastor said in a PBS interview "Religion & Ethics News Weekly" Pastor Wright warned Senator Obama, that their association could be a problem for Obama, partly because of his history of supporting Palestinian causes---Wright also told the New York Times, "When his enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli, with Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan, to visit Libyan leader Moammer al-Gaddafi, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell."

The church that Senator Obama belongs, is a champion for liberal causes from Gay/Lesbian Rights to Opposition to the Iraq War. Obama borrowed the words "Audacity of Hope" from a sermon of Pastor Wright, as the title of one of his books.

According to the Catholic League for Religious & Civil Rights, "Pastor Wright, the Black Liberation Theologian has a record of giving racially inflammatory sermons and has even said that...Zionism has an element of white racism...he has also blamed the 9/11 attacks on American foreign policy."
Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose office adorns a Black Power Statue at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, is a racist, anti-Semite, ministering Black Liberation Theology to his congregation where Barack Obama belongs.
