John Coatsworth, Dean of the School of International & Public Affairs has said, "...If Hitler were in the United States and wanted a platform from which to speak, he would have plenty of platforms to speak in the United States...if he were willing to engage in debate and a discussion to be challenged by Columbia students and faculty, we would certainly invite him."
Columbia has a long history of providing a forum to Fascists, it once welcomed Nazi Germany's U.S. Ambassador Hans Luther to speak at the university in December 1933 triggering a student revolt.
