Exporting Nuclear Technology to Terrorists
Iran wants to develop Nuclear weapons and the Russians have the experience to make it happen. The Russians are a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and therefore have the ability to veto any resolution targeting Iran's nuclear program. Since the Russians are collecting Billions of Dollars by providing Iran with missiles and the scientific expertise to build the Iranian Nuclear program, a Veto of any Security Council Resolution against Iran seems likely.
The Russians are heavily invested in Iran as they are building at least two Nuclear facilities for the Islamic Nation. Likewise the Russians are hopeful to start a turn-key business to help other nations construct Nuclear facilities. In his brief visit to Hanoi, Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Fradkov proposed to Viet Nam the opportunity to construct a Nuclear facility and train staff.
While the Russians are exporting scientific technology to Iran, in 2005 they executed a $700 Million Dollar contract for the delivery of missiles with the Ahmadinejad government. Likewise the Russians who are helping to modernize the Iranian Navy have offered to further assist Iran in updating it's MIG-29 aircraft with the latest technology.
Russia has previously sold weapons to Syria that it's President Bashar al-Assad then provided to Hezbollah that have been used against Israel.
The Russian Government under Vladimir Putin, continues to roll back democratic reforms and continues it's take-over of businesses, many Intelligence Observers fear that Mr. Putin may soon move to amend the Russian Constitution in order to serve a 3rd term as President. The Russian President has already restored some traditions reviving the Communist Flag as a military symbol and the Soviet national anthem. In a speech in 2006 Vladimir Putin said that, "...the collapse of the Soviet Union was the greatest catastrophe of the 20th century."
As the Russian Government continues to bully businesses and takes control over the operations of companies, it has threatened to cancel contracts with oil companies such as BP Oil driving up world oil prices that are currently at record levels. In a move last year with Shell Oil Co. the Russian Government strong armed Shell Executives to hand over controlling interest in the Sakhalin 2 Project or otherwise risk losing its license to continue to operate.
Vladimir Putin the former KGB Officer and Communist Party Member until it was banned in 1991 is brokering arms deals with terrorists and building alliances with totalitarian regimes such as Iran and Syria as many fear to reconstruct social, political and economic order through centralized state run government, better known as Communism. Is a New Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in our future?
