

Martinez an illegal immigrant driving without a valid operators license was intoxicated on New Year Day when his vehicle slammed into a snow plow. Martinez's wife 8 months pregnant and their unborn child were killed in the crash, three other children that were in the vehicle were also injured, one critically and is a patient at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
Martinez told the Judge on Wednesday during his Court Arraignment that he "...was in shock and that his family had a happy life."
According to Court records, Martinez was already wanted on an outstanding warrant because he failed to pay a $412.00 fine from a 2006 conviction for driving without a valid operators license.
Police said that Martinez never had a valid drivers license nor did he have a social security number.
This accident would not have occurred had Martinez an illegal immigrant been deported following his 2006 conviction.
