District of Columbia Needle Exchange

Washington, D.C. has announced that they will spend $650,000 in public money for a Needle Exchange Program to combat HIV disease, in the wake of the Nancy Pelosi's Democratic controlled Congress decision to end the ban on the use of tax-payer dollars for such efforts.

For a decade the Congress has banned the District of Columbia from using public money for such a program, Democrats removed the ban during recent passage of a appropriations bill.
