The assessment is at odds with official Chinese government statements which have attempted to shift the blame on the massive size of the May 12, 2008 earthquake.
This 653 page book has been quietly circulating since it was
published last October and may be the best authoritative assessment why thousands of classrooms collapsed while nearby structures remained firm.

Treasury Secretary Timmy Geithner drew loud laughter from students when he attempted to assure his skeptical audience that investments in U.S. Treasury Securities "are very safe."
One may be able to fool some people some of the time but Chinese are pretty smart and are not nearly as gullible as Timmy Geithner thought they were.

The story made world wide headlines, Lin Hao China's littlest Sichuan Earthquake Hero so captivated the world at Beijing 2008 when it was told that after freeing himself from the rubble, he went back in to his collapsed school building to help rescue his friends.It turns out the entire story was all made up.
Sad but while China and the world mourned the tremendous loss of life from the devastating 8.0 Sichuan Earthquake, which I have written numerous posts about here here and here during the last twelve months, with links incorporated to other posts. At the time, people in China were searching for something, anything good, decent and wholesome to grasp on to.
While I am not condoning the lie, I can understand why it occurred, during a time of great peril, Lin Hao's story, no matter how fictional
it turns out to be, was in some small way, therapeutic to so many.
It is a miracle from God that Lin Hao survived, he remains a little boy with all of the many opportunities so many of his peers, will no longer realize.
Despite being used by some Chinese Propagandist, none of it was his fault and hopefully he may grow up learning a valuable lesson just the same---better to be honest, ones lies will surely be found out.

& Civil Rights, claims that Judge Sonia Sotomayor's record has more bright spots than Conservative Catholics, can reasonably expect to get from an appointee of President Obama.
Really?
Yesterday I wrote here that Obama has been mum on details about Judge Sotomayor and her record as an Appellate Ct. Jurist.
William Donohue has been accused of anti-Semitism by Orthodox Rabbi Shmuley Boteach following a statement which he made during a 08 December, 2004 appearance on Scarborough Country. Donohue claimed, "Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular."
In 2004 National Review Publisher Wm. F. Buckley, Jr criticized the Catholic League saying, "...is essentially one man, its president William Donohue."
Even though William Donohue may not be relevant, nor does he speak for all Catholics, the controversies surrounding Judge Sotomayor are very real and must not be so easily dismissed for political expediency.
Why did Sonia Sotomayor use a quote from Socialist Norman Thomas in her Yearbook? Does America really want an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court who admires a Socialist?

Government Motors reported on Thursday that they had reached a tentative deal with some Bondholders which represents about 20%
of its debt.
Under the proposed deal, the Bondholders would be offered 10% in
a newly reorganized GM and would also receive warrants, entitling them purchase another 15% equity in a reorganized company.
The taxpayers will own 72.5% of the reorganized nationalized automaker and the UAW would own 17.5% which GM reported in securities filings.
Government Motors has taken nearly $20 Billion Dollars of taxpayers money, much of it, will never never be repaid. GM is expected to file for Bankruptcy Protection next week.
During Bankruptcy, analysts say that the taxpayers will spend
at least another $50 Billion Dollars to get the ailing auto company through bankruptcy, the true costs are unknown and may even be much higher?
Is this really a good expenditure of taxpayers money? What would have happened had Democrat-Socialists been in charge of Congress and the Presidency, during the start of the industrial revolution, would they have bailed out Buggy Companies?

A couple in California claim that they were interrogated by local Police, who threatened them with escalating fines if they did not stop holding home bible studies.
San Diego County Authorities notified the Pastor and his wife, that their home bible studies violated a county regulation, a few days later, the couple received a written warning that claimed they were in violation of "the unlawful use of land" and were ordered to stop holding religious meetings without first obtaining a permit from the government.

Senator's may want to consider Appellate Jurist Sotomayor's track record of reversals by the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Sotomayor
has been reversed 60% of the time likewise, some former Law Clerks, have also expressed their concerns about her command for technical legal details.
In August, 2007 Judge Sotomayor sat on a panel and ruled against a high school Blogger, in an important 1st Amendment Case saying that a student's off-campus blog, created a "foreseeable risk of substantial disruption" at the student's high school and the student was not entitled to a preliminary injunction reversing a school disciplinary against her.
Judge Sotomayor rejected the reverse discrimination claims made by 19 white firefighters, one whom is Hispanic. The Appellant's argued that the City of New Haven, CT. violated their rights by throwing out the results of an Officers' promotion exam in which minority candidates received disproportionately low scores. Currently the case under the caption of Ricci v. DeStefano is being reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court.
U.S. Supreme Court Nominee Judge Sotomayor, has also showed her racism when she said, that Hispanic Women are better equipped, due to inherent "physiological or cultural differences" to make better decisions than white men.

A Catholic African-American Journalist with Press Credentials was forcibly evicted by U.S. Secret Service Agents from LAX today, shortly before "Hope-n-Change" arrived at the airport to depart California.
The Female Reporter was later identified as Brenda Lee, for the Georgia Informer, in Macon, GA
Ms. Lee, said later in a telephone interview with the AP that she only had wanted to give Obama a letter, urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage."
