Hezbollah's Al-Mahdi Scout Brigade

Unlike Boy Scouts in the United States in which boys take an oath "On my honor I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country and obey the scout law; to help others at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight."

Hezbollah Scouting adheres to a different set of principles---teaching the work of Islamic Resistance. Dr. Bilal Naim, President of the Mahdi Scouts told Al-Jazeera, December 21, 2007 "...after 15 or 16 years old we say to everybody that the Islamic Resistance is one of the foundations that defends against Israel and that the Jihad against Israel is one of the concepts of Islam."

"We want to to be good Muslims and defend our land against Israel...Al-Mahdi Scouts told us to be martyrs...we should defend our country through Islamic Resistance...and be martyrs..." according to 14 year old Adel Ahmer.

Farhat Hasosoun, Leader of the Al-Mahdi Scouts said, "...some Scouts go on to become a Member of the Hezbollah armed Islamic Resistance group..."

The Al-Mahdi Scouts were organized in 1985 . A 2006 report by the Intelligence and Terrorism Center at the Center for Special Studies in Israel concluded that the Al-Mahdi Scouts "...are indoctrinated with the principles of radical Iranian Islam."

Preparing youth of today to be Islamic Terrorist Thugs of tomorrow, what a lofty goal. Oh my!
